MOVEMENT & DANCE

Designed to inspire joy in dance and to introduce young dancers to rhythmic movement, the Movement & Dance classes prepare youngsters for the formal and syllabus based ballet program.

SYLLABUS BALLET CLASSES

Ballet instruction at NEBC follows a specific syllabus, which combines evolving teaching techniques with the finest academic tradition of classical ballet. NEBC has carefully designed the syllabus to maximize students' progress in assimilating ballet technique. The syllabus ensures that NEBC faculty teach consistently from one class to another.

In the syllabus ballet program, dance students are taught ballet technique in a constructive and positive environment in which they can enjoy the art of ballet. The program is flexible and offers many different levels in which each student can find her or his level.

  • Introduction to Ballet (must be age 8 by October 30)

ADULT AND SENIOR BALLET CLASSES

NEBC offers three levels of ballet classes conveniently timed to fit adults' busy schedules. These classes allow adults to experience ballet while developing strength, balance, and poise consistent with safety. Seniors are encouraged to join us and enjoy a gentle and safe approach to classical ballet training. A great class to help stay young!

OTHER CLASSES

To help ballet dancers achieve their best potential in ballet classes or just to help improve overall physical fitness, the NEBC offers the following classes. All levels welcome.

  • Physical conditioning classes are conducted in our special studio in which students can work on their strength, muscle toning, flexibility, and stamina in a friendly atmosphere.
  • Floor barre classes particularly help dancers to enhance their body placement and alignment. Floor barre work contributes to better control of the turn out and increases flexibility and strengthening.
  • Modern dance classes introduce students to different styles of modern and contemporary choreographies.
